Nancy Bakay asks:

I have a recipe calling for caramelized sweetened condensed milk. I was in your store looking for such an item. Any ideas on where to find or how to make would be appreciated.

Chef Randy Says:

For Carmelized Sweetened Condensed Milk (often called Dulche De Leche)

Take a Large sauce pan 4 – 5 qt filled with water

Place 1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk (label removed) in the pan

Bring to a slow boil.

Boil for 3 hours, adding Hot water as needed

Remove from pan and let cool completely (this may take 2 hours or more)

This may be stored in the pantry for 2 months.

Usually when I make Dulche De Leche I make 2 -3 cans.
